Louisiana State Capitol standing 450 feet tall, 34 stories and is the tallest capitol in the US. It was built in 14 months with a $5 million budget. Capitol was completed in 1932. |

| Huey P Long as governor during the depression, convinced the public and Legislature that a new capitol would save money with modern efficiency. He was a very outspoken guy and usually got his way. Now who does that sound like??? He was assassinated in 1935 outside the Governor's Office. He is buried on the grounds. |
