Towers of America, 750 ft tall, overlooks the city. Unfortunately, it was overcast the day we visited so no good pics from the top. |

San Fernando Cathedral located center square downtown. Colonists sent by the king of Spain began work on the cathedral in 1731. This is oldest parish in Texas. We were able to attend Saturday night Mariachi Mass here and it was Mother's Day. The Mariachi Band played a special song for all the Mother's, who were invited to the front of the church, big party! |

| Spanish Governor's Palace dates back to early 1700's. The building housed the officer's of the Presidio San Antonio de Bejar. No Governor's ever lived in it. |

Storage unit called a "papelera" was designed to organize & protect documents created by civil & military personnel in the 18th century. |

Internal furnishings represent the period. The buildings in this area were sold or left uninhabited after the Civil War. Numerous families occupied this house and made modifications. It has been restored to the original period. |
